Why Aluminum Bottle – Better Than Glass

Better Than Glass

The physical properties of aluminum provide the aluminum bottle with superior characteristics over that of the glass bottle.

Unbreakable

The hazards of broken glass during filling, at home or outdoors are eliminated by moving to the aluminum bottle. Because they are unbreakable, they can be used with the innovative carrier designed exclusively for unbreakable bottles.

An Effective Light Barrier

Light is an enemy of wines, beers, and other photosensitive products. Aluminum is totally impervious to light (keeps out 100% of light) providing for improved freshness and shelflife.

Cools Faster

Aluminum is a far superior thermal conductor than glass. As a result beverages in aluminum chill faster when placed in a refrigerator or on ice than in glass or plastic bottles.

Lightweight

The Drawn & Ironed (D&I) aluminum bottle typically weighs 90% less than a similar volume glass bottle. This reduced weight typically translates to well over 1,000 pounds in weight savings per pallet for shipping, or over 25,000 pounds per truckload. Some of the benefits of this include reduced shipping rates, easier handling and more bottles per truckload.

Reyclability

Our bottles contain substantially more recycled aluminum than other aluminum containers with over 80% recycled content. Approximately 57% of aluminum is recycled, compared to around 28% of glass.

Waste

A predominance of green glass bottles end up in landfills as do a significant portion of all other glass when the costs to transport (heavy) glass to a processing facility outweigh the value of the glass itself. The effective “recycle radius” decreases as energy prices increase.
